Our Story

We, meaning Connectem Communications PTY LTD and our employees strive for perfection, we pride ourselves in our quality, workmanship, safety and service delivery and always strive to keep this at a very high standard. We aim to deliver a complete service with minimal impact on the customer and client.

Our founder

Jan Needham who is the technical guru for the company has 28 years of experience in Copper and fibre networks. Starting out in 1990 in South Africa on Civils trenching, building of manholes, laying conduits, hauling etc. progressing through the telecommunications industry into copper jointing, Business Systems, Fibre optics and Wireless systems.

In 2006 he immigrated to Australia working for ABB on the Installation and Maintenance of the Telstra network in copper. Later moved to Visionstream also doing maintenance on the Telstra Copper network then onto the NFP project (National Fibre Project) which was for the Defence force and Australian Government as a Technical Specialist and finally over to the NBN until 2013 when he established Connectem Communication.

We have 5 employees in total 3 of which are qualified Telecommunications Technicians and all very versatile in the communication industry from copper jointing to fibre splicing all with many years’ experience.

Our Aim

Connectem Communications was established in September 2013 by Owners Jannie Needham and Lisa Saul. Over the years of running Connectem we have had extensive experience in the optic fibre networks for NBN, Telstra and Ericson Mobile towers. From the start we have focused mainly on the NBN from full exchange building to outside underground DFN and LFN fibre networks. Travelling the whole of Western Australia and some work in the Northern Territory.
